Redesigned Exterior and Interior

The Ford Escape has a distinctive new look for 2020. Redesigned with sportier lines that give it a premium feel, the attention-grabbing new Escape will change the way you look at every other SUV. Its interior has also been redesigned with all the features and conveniences to help make travelling and exploring more comfortable. A new rotary gear shift dial opens space on the centre console and helps improve overall front-row comfort. And with the second-row 60/40 split-fold seats with an all-new sliding feature, you can have best-in-class second-row leg room* or slide forward to maximize rear cargo space.

*Based on the 2nd row seat in the most rearward position. Class is Small Utility over 4,480 mm length based on Ford Segmentation.

Available Panoramic Vista Roof®

The available Panoramic Vista Roof® features a large forward panel that tilts up or opens fully, plus a fixed rear skylight. So whether you’re sitting up front or in back, the Panoramic Vista Roof lets in the natural light.

60/40 Split-Fold-Flat Rear Seat Backs With New Sliding Function

Fold both rear seat backs for a flat load surface that offers up to 65.4 cu. ft. (1,852 litres) of total cargo space. Or fold down either of the standard 60/40 split rear seat backs and still save room for a passenger. The second-row rear seats also feature a new sliding function, allowing for greater ease of use when loading up cargo. If you’re carrying items such as luggage, leave both seat backs up and you’ll have 34 cu. ft. (962 litres) of cargo space or best-in-class second-row leg room.*

*Class is Small Utilities based on Ford segmentation.

2020 Escape SEL

The 2020 Ford Escape SEL features a variety of exterior and interior amenities. The SEL exterior ramps up both style and utility with added fog lamps, black roof-rack rails and 18-inch machined-face aluminum wheels with dark stainless-painted pockets, while the SEL interior radiates both style and comfort with ActiveX™ seating with sport contour buckets, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. Confidence on the Road to Adventure

The Ford Escape for 2020 offers a wide range of available technologies to help keep you aware of your surroundings and ever-changing traffic conditions. From the driveway to the highway, standard Ford Co-Pilot360™ has you covered. Ford Co-Pilot360™ is an advanced suite of standard driver-assist technologies to help keep you connected and confident as you hit the road as part of your adventurous and active lifestyle.

Ford Co-Pilot360™

Introducing Ford Co-Pilot360™ — an advanced suite of standard driver-assist technologies that includes BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Lane-Keeping System, and Rear View Camera. Ford Escape also makes additional technology available that is designed to help keep you in command, from the driveway to the highway.

Available Head-Up Display

Keep your eyes on the road. The available head-up display creates an image on a display screen in front of you as you look through the windshield. This minimizes the distraction of having to look down at the car’s instrument panel. The head-up display keeps you informed with various driver-assist features that include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane-Keeping System, navigation, and more.*

*Don’t drive while distracted. See owner’s manual for details and system limitations.

Available SYNC®3

Smart hardware. Smart software. Smart design. Simple music search, capacitive touchscreen, enhanced voice recognition, and climate control keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. Available SYNC® 3 also brings the power of Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility to your Ford.

Capability to Explore

It’s a big world out there. Escape lets you hit the road and explore it with the choice of three different engines. To help you stay in control, there’s also the available All-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive Disconnect and standard Selectable Drive Modes.

1.5L EcoBoost® Engine

The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Auto Start-Stop Technology can help lower fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving. When your vehicle comes to a stop, the engine shuts off and then seamlessly restarts when you step on the accelerator or when your foot leaves the brake pedal.

Available 2.0L EcoBoost® Engine With Auto Start-Stop Technology

The available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine comes with Auto Start-Stop Technology and SelectShift®. The 8-speed SelectShift transmission offers the convenience of an automatic or the sporty feel of a manual. What’s more, with the Class II Trailer Tow Package (standard with the 2.0L EcoBoost® engine), this engine can support a maximum towing capacity of 1,587 kg (3,498 lbs.).

Hybrid 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Engine

The 2.5L I-4 Atkinson-cycle powertrain features an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and an 88 kW electric motor. Standard on all Escape Hybrid and Escape Plug-In Hybrid models.

Available All-Wheel Drive (AWD) AWD Disconnect

Designed to help save fuel, available All-Wheel Drive Disconnect lets you disconnect the rear driveline when the system detects AWD is not needed. This allows only the front wheels to propel the vehicle, therefore reducing drag and the overall energy demands of the drivetrain.

Selectable Drive Modes

Designed to help improve your driving experience and handling on varying road surfaces. The different modes are Normal, Eco, Slippery, Sport and Deep Snow/Sand. Once selected, each of these driving modes can modify the electronic stability control system and traction control system without you having to do anything.

Towing Capability

Escape Titanium with its 2.0L EcoBoost® engine has a maximum towing capacity of 1,587 kg. (3,498 lbs.) when equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package. The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® engine, when properly equipped, can tow up to 907 kg. And don’t forget about hybrid capability, because when properly equipped, the Hybrid and Escape Plug-in Hybrid are powered by the 2.5L I-4 and can each tow up to 680 kg (1,499 lbs.).
